Business mission to Egypt and Oman

Czech companies have raised interest of their Middle-Est counterparts.

Czech businessmen accompanied the minister of foreign affaires Lubomír Zaorálek on his visit to Egypt and Oman from 30th January to 2nd February 2016, and the interest shown by their trade partners was considerable. The Czech delegation was composed of representatives of arms, energy and food industry as well as of machinery production and healthcare and environmental protection technologies. Those represent the most perspective export branches in relation to Egypt.

In the business mission organized by the Confederation of Industry and headed by its vice-president Stanislav Kázecký, the companies as Aura Agile Europe, Crocodile, ETD Transformátory, Moravia Systém, MZ Liberec, Pražská strojírna, Omnipol, Provyko or Škoda Plzeň took part.

Part of the programme was a business forum organized by the Confederation’s partner organization, the Federation Of Egyptian Industries (FEI). The forum had been launched by the FEI’s president Mohamed Al Seweyd, foreign minister Zaorálek and Confederation’s vice-president Kázecký.

Within a forum, a Cooperaton Agreeement was signed by Kázecký and a FEI’s board member Mohamed Walid Gamal El Din in order to improve information exchange and economic relations promotion as well as trade exchange between the two countries.

In the subsequent bilateral negotiations between the Czech side and its Egyptian counterparts, several dozen companies took part. The representatives of the Czech companies assisted to the meeting between the foreign minister Zaorálek and vice-minister of defence Kuchta with the Egyptian minister of military production Mohamed El Assar. Egypt prepares projects linked to the construction of the second part of the Suez Canal which represents large possibilities for the Czech companies.

The trade exchange between Egypt and the Czech Republic amounted to 550 million USD in 2014 which was the most successful year as to the Czech import to Egypt, and the 2015 was very probably a successful year as well.

In the capital of Oman, Muskat, the Confederation of Industry has organized, in cooperation with the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI), a business forum accompanied by the bilateral meetings between the companies and their trade partners.

The Confederation‘s vice-president Kázecky signed then a Cooperation Agreement with his OCCI‘s counterpart Ayman Abdullah Al Hasani. The Oman economy, undergoing a liberalization, represents a perspective market for the Czech companies. In the Omani market, Agile Europe takes active part, and the country is an export destination for Škoda Auto, Barum Continental or Evraz Vítkovice.

The OCCI has shown interest in a visit to the Czech Republic. On this occasion, the Confederaton of Industry will organize a business forum and B2B meetings between the Czech and Omani entrepreneurs.
