„Putting Europe to Work: The Case for Labour Market Reforms“

New publication of BUSINESSEUROPE making a diagnosis of the current state-of-play on European labour markets

The publication identifies the challenges that the European labour markets face and suggests the policies needed to overcome them. Successful reforms put in place during the last decade have helped some member states to weather the crisis successfully and make the most of the recovery. Inspired by such reforms, the report presents a check list for action, calling on member states to urgently put in place the policies that will create growth and jobs.

In the foreword, Jürgen R. Thumann, president of BUSINESSEUROPE says: “This is the moment of true for member States to commit for reforms. And the right framework to do that is the flexicurity approach. Implementing flexicurity policies is absolutely essential to ensure the right conditions for growth and employment in the long run.”
