EU 2020 Strategy : BUSINESSEUROPE’s Response to the Commission’s consultation

Focus on real drivers for sustained economic revival – companies and entrepreneurs – is missing!

BUSINESSEUROPE’s Director General Philippe de Buck sent a letter to Catherine Day, Secretary General of the European Commission, in response to the consultation on the EU 2020 Strategy launched by the European Commission.

BUSINESSEUROPE calls on the European institutions to introduce a common and ambitious EU growth strategy. The emphasis on the Internal Market, knowledge, skills, a truly integrated industrial policy and better regulation will be particularly important.

At the same time BUSINESSEUROPE regrets that a sense of urgency and a focus on the real drivers for sustained economic revival in Europe – namely companies and entrepreneurs – are missing in the vision set out by the European Commission.
