The business' vision of a reformed EU

The British CBI comes with a new initiative for EU reforms.

The Confederation of British Industry (CBI) has been actively campaigning for EU reform for over two years now, building on the priorities other members of the BUSINESSEUROPE told to the CBI and which the Britons set out in the 2013 report “Our Global Future: The business vision for a reformed EU”.

With that in mind, the CBI has undertaken a hard-headed assessment of what the reform deal secured by the Prime Minister David Cameron on Friday 19th February with other EU Heads of State or Government, coupled with ongoing reforms in Brussels, means for business.

Over the coming weeks, the CBI will be consulting BUSINESSEUROPE’s members through a survey and its governance structure to guide the CBI’s position on the referendum on whether Britain should remain in the European Union going forward.

The European entrepreneurs‘ associations including the Confederation of Industry of the Czech Republic has given their support to the British prime minister David Cameron in an effort to make the EU more competitive in signing an open letter by CBI adressed to the EU leaders on 17th February. The business and industry associations want the UK to stay inside a reformed EU.
