BusinessEurope celebrated its 60th anniversary

BusinessEurope celebrated its 60th anniversary in Brussels on 28 February 2018 together with the Presidents and Directors General of 39 member federations from 34 European countries. The Confederation of Industry of the Czech Republic, SPCR, the largest and most influential independent organisation of employers and entrepreneurs in the Czech Republic, has been a member of BusinessEurope since 1993.

The Director General of SPCR Dagmar Kuchtová therefore participated in the event and said:

At this occasion the Presidents and Directors General looked at 60 years of the association’s history, the challenges ahead and agreed on what really brings together European businesses. “We share the same values and goals. Our priority is a strong and united European Union,” said Dagmar Kuchtová. 

Over the past 60 years, European integration has been a crucial driver of companies’ success. On the other side, a thriving business community will always be essential for Europe to succeed and remain one of the best places in which to live and work in the world.

On 1 March 2018, exactly 60 years after the first meeting of BusinessEurope´s founding fathers, the Presidents and Directors General together with top European policy-makers and business leaders met at the conference called BUSINESSEUROPE Day 2018. “We have a key role to play in making sure that our model of social market economy continues to thrive. This is why we chose to focus BusinessEurope Day 2018 on the value.s of business,” President of BusinessEurope Emma Marcegaglia said.

The future of industry and the importance of the European Union will also be disccused at the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Central Union of Czechoslovak Industrialists which will be celebrated in June 2018 in Prague.
