Business mission to Azerbaijan confirmed the expectations

Czech companies will participate in projects worth hundred of millions of euros.

The business mission to Azerbaijan organized by the Confederation of Industry of the Czech Republic accompanied by the Czech president Miloš Zeman that have come home on Thursday 17th September had been very successful.

„The mission linked to the official visit of the president Zeman has confirmed our expectations," Confederation's president Jaroslav Hanák that headed the mission said. „On the agenda was the transport infrastructure building, traffic engineering or machinery and equipment deliveries. But there are other fields of cooperation like waste disposal, housing construction or aircraft and arms components deliveries."

For example the PSJ company will participate in the construction of a new town that will be built on an artificial island near the Azeri capital Baku. The company should also construct several new apartment buildings worth 400 million euros.

The Moravia Steel company should, as a general contractor, participate in the reconstruction of the railroad between Baku, Georgia and Turkey worth 500 million euros. The Aero Vodochody company will try to deliver into production a new generation of L-39 aircraft as Azerbaijan has today 24 of these aircrafts.

With their Azeri counterparts, the representatives of the Czech companies have negotiated the cooperation on Azeri companies' investment in the Czech spas and hotels.

The top event of the mission has been the business forum held in the Baku Four Seasons Hotel in the presence of president Zeman and his Azeri counterpart Illham Aliyev. The Confederation's president Hanák that took part in the business forum as well pointed out the Czech companies' interest in cooperation with the Azeri side.

„I can mention energy, machinery, electrotechnics, automotive industry, transport means, oil production and treatment, aviation industry, infrastructure building, water management, constructions and environment protection," Hanák said. „Our companies are successful and competitive in these fields and have a lot of experience, knowledge and know-how."
