Confederation supports digitization

The Confederation of Industry has published the results of a survey on digitization.

Digitization is an important topic in the Czech Republic. Ten percent of the Czech companies are fully digitized, in two fifth of them, digitization is well developed. One fourth of the Czech companies want to invest in digitization more than four percent of their turnover, four percent of them more than one tenth o fit.

These facts have been revealed due to the survey initiated by the Czech-German Chamber of Industry and Commerce within its this year initiative „Industry 4.0“ in which the Confederation of Industry of the Czech Republic has participated as well. The results of the survey in which representatives of 274 Czech companies took part has been presented in Prague on Tuesday 24th March.

One tenth of the companies that took part in the survey awaits a decrease in the number of the employees due to digitization, but these figures contradict to the data published by the European Commission presuming that the internet economy produces 2,6 new jobs per one that has been abolished.

„The results of the survey show that the Czech business is digitized or at least well-prepared for the digitization,“ the Confederation’s Board member Ivan Vrzal said. „It is the state administration’s task to engage in the digitization effectively.“

„We want that, in 2014-2020, the projects that will enable the best use of financial means for digitization be preferred,“ the Confederation’s specialist in EU policies Tereza Šamanová said. „It will enhance the competitiveness of the Czech companies and thus the competitiveness of the Czech economy as well.“
