The Confederation will promote technical education further

The employers‘ association demand the start of a functioning system enabling labour market short-term predictions.

The Confederation of Industry of the Czech Republic promotes in the long-term activities of the companies, schools and other subjects that are motivating the young people to link their professional career with technical branches. The Czech industry lacks 100 thousand technically educated workers today and according to the available forecasts, the situation will yet deteriorate. Two thirds of the Czech companies are looking for graduates with diplomas in technical fields. A lot of them has even announced a lack of non-qualified workers.

That’s why the Confederation has declared 2015 a Year of Industry and Technical Education. In addition, the employer’s and entrepreneurs association is decided to continue its efforts to promote the technical education. The Confederation has actively supported the legislative changes that could help the polytechnical universities in their development and it will intensify its activities in this field further.

Another employers‘ contribution to the educational system’s reform is the fact that 2016 has been declared by the Association of Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises and Crafts of the Czech Republic, which is member of the Confederation of Industry, a Year of the Craft Industries.

The Confederation wants to push for the reform of the technical universities‘ financing without which it would be impossible to change the contemporaneous educational system as well as the reform of the regional educational system financing. In addition to it, the Confederation and its partners demand a quick start of the functioning system of labour market short-term predictions to clarify how high is the demand on the labour market.
