BIAC publishes its recommendations for the 2014

The world economy needs more balanced politics, strengthening of the job creation and sound financial system oriented on growth.

The Business and Industry Advisory Committee (BIAC) to the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) has published in its annual report the key recommendations for the 2014 and the following period.

The BIAC will continue its cooperation with the OECD with the aim to help to the policy makers to carry through audacious reforms and to guarantee a larger harmony and predictability in the economic policy. The business continues to be a driving force in the world economy and the restoration of confidence in undertaking is a first condition for the economic growth and renewal.

„We are still dealing with the effects of the deepest global economic crisis of the last years and the global and more and more digital economy is driven by different dynamics,“ the BIAC president Phil O’Reily stressed. „The new times and new challenges require new ways of thinking.“

The key themes mentioned in the annual report of the BIAC are:

  •        balanced economic politics, structural reforms and sound financial system oriented on growth
  •        strengthening of the job creation and employability of the individuals
  •        open, competitive markets and freedom of investment
  •        good government
  •        innovations for growth promotion
  •        sustainable development and green growth
  •        more predictable environment for the international taxation
  •        effective cooperation at the global level
