EU-US: It is time to work together - based on our shared values

Following the results of the US elections, Jaroslav Hanák, President of the Confederation of Industry of the Czech Republic, joined in the congratulations from the President of BusinessEurope and said: "We would like to send our sincere congratulations to President-elect Joe Biden and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris".

The European business community is of the opinion that the transatlantic relationship has not gone through its easiest period throughout the last years. Already before the US elections, BusinessEurope underlined the necessity of working for a better understanding and deeper cooperation between the EU and the USA, based on the values we share, in its strategic policy paper EU and USA: How to build a positive agenda.

We believe that it's now the time for the EU and the USA to work together for a joint positive agenda, finding negotiated, mutually beneficial solutions to longstanding irritants like the Airbus-Boeing trade dispute and to start to jointly heal the international trading system by reforming the WTO. The European business community stands ready to constructively support this process.
