The DSA must allows for an innovative and thriving digital market

The Confederation of Industry of the Czech Republic has today asked leading MEPs to reconsider certain aspects of the draft Digital Services Act (DSA) to ensure that it unlocks Europe’s digital potential and enables small and medium-sized businesses to innovate, grow and thrive.

13 trade associations from nine European Member States have come together to call for strengthening the Country of Origin Principle, protecting small and medium-sized enterprises and ensuring that tools such as targeted advertising are not severely restricted or banned.

Milena Jabůrková, Vice-President of the Confederation of Industry of the Czech Republic, adds: “The DSA represents the biggest overhaul of Europe's digital trade rules in twenty years. Getting it right for business is crucial, especially for the SMEs that drive Europe's economy. Above all, online trade rules must promote trust, investment, innovation and growth, which are essential conditions for a dynamic digital single market.”
