BUSINESSEUROPE on the Energy Union

The EU Energy and Climate Policy should fit to the competitiveness and sustainable growth in Europe.

The BUSINESSEUROPE answers to the EU Commission legislative and non-legislative proposals for the EU Energy Union creation.

The BUSINESSEUROPE welcomes the EU Commission‘s strategy as an important first step to balance the EU’s energy, climate and industrial interests. There is time now to make this strategy a growing force of the industrial growth in Europe.

Higher energy prices are to be removed by a complex and targeted approach to the individual EU politics. To make use of the benefits of the inner energy market, the coordination of the of the EU member states‘ energy politics should be strengthened. The BUSINESSEUROPE demands a full implementation of the existing EU legislation and a realization of the cross-border connectivity projects.

The EU should seize the opportunities coming from new suppliers entering the global energy markets and from the range of domestic resources.
