The Confederation of Industry highlights the critical role of digital standardization for Europe's technological future and global competitiveness. In the rapidly evolving digital landscape, effective standards are essential for innovation, seamless interoperability, and efficient compliance. However, we are concerned about the risk of creating overly prescriptive, burdensome, and fragmented standards that could stifle progress. 

We advocate for a harmonized, agile approach guided by principles such as prioritizing international alignment, significantly reducing administrative burden, and enhancing cross-sector applicability to foster a thriving European digital ecosystem and unlock the full potential of its digital economy.
