#EU2022CZ - time to promote the needs of the Czech industry

On Friday, 1st July, the Czech Republic takes over the Presidency of the Council of the European Union from France for six months. During the upcoming six months of the Czech Presidency of the Council of the EU (CZ PRES), we will be visibly and strongly presenting the interests of the Confederation’s members to top representatives of European employers' federations, the European Parliament, representatives of the Czech government, as well as senior constitutional officials and officials from European institutions.

The Confederation of Industry of the Czech Republic (SP CR) intends to take advantage of the maximum attention that is usually given to EU Presidency events to promote the priorities of Czech business at the European and global levels.

While governmental institutions are more or less limited by the role of a moderator during their country's EU Presidency, aiming to help find a compromise between individual Member States rather than to promote national interests, the Confederation wants to use the second Czech Presidency much more vigorously to raise the profile of Czech proposals, positions and concerns.

The Confederation set out its position on the priorities for the coming period in three pillars:

  1. A resilient and open Europe,
  2. A competitive and sustainable Europe,
  3. Europe with a dynamic labour market.

A brochure describing these three pillars, as well as up-to-date information on the Czech Presidency, can be found on our website:
