Representatives of the Platform for Artificial Intelligence of the Confederation of Industry of the Czech Republic and representatives of the academic and business spheres, who have been involved in the development and use of artificial intelligence systems for a long time, addressed today, through an open letter, selected members of the government in connection with the discussion of the draft regulation of artificial intelligence in the Council of the European Union. In their statement, they want to draw attention in particular to persistent shortcomings in the proposals under discussion in the Council. They also call on the Czech government not to succumb to political pressures from some Member States and EU institutions and to discuss such a complex and difficult regulation in a longer timeframe. This will provide an opportunity to discuss in detail a number of key points that could have a serious negative impact on the development and use of AI systems in the EU.
