Better regulation 3 priorities of the European business

All EU institutions have to cooperate and provide involvement opportunities of interested parties.

The Confederation of European Business (BUSINESSEUROPE) reacts positively to the European Commission's communication from May of this year „Better regulation for better results - An EU agenda" (COM(2015)215), in some areas it will go yet further.

As to involving the interested parties in the whole legislative and non-legislative process, the BUSINESSEUROPE wants to enhance transparency of the trialogue so that the most important amendments would be part of the impact assessment procedure.

The BUSINEESEUROPE calls for the so-called fast tracks to enable the retirement of each proposal or amendment that could have a negative impact on the competitiveness and demands that a survey of 10 most burdensome proposals would be published within the REFIT agenda again. The REFIT proposal should not represent a replacement of an old proposal by a new one and the acts of delegated powers should be subject to the impact assessment procedure.

The BUSINESSEUROPE's key messages:

• Agree the proposal for an inter-institutional agreement on better regulation.

• Reduce burdens through an effective REFIT agenda and the REFIT platform.

• Increase transparency to ensure effective stakeholder involvement throughout the legislative process.
