EESC: The European Economic and Social Committee
The EESC is a consultative body to the EU institutions, according to the Articles 300-304 of the Treaty on the Functioning of the EU (ex Articles 258 - 262 of the Treaty on the EC). On the request of the Council, the European Parliament and the Commission, it prepares special standpoints and survey reports. Two Czech representatives in the EESC stand for the Confederation of Industry of the Czech Republic, one for the Confederation of Employers' and Entrepreneurs' Associations of the Czech Republic and one for the Czech Chamber of Commerce.
