The BUSINESSEUROPE welcomes the conclusion of TPP

The conclusion of the TPP puts additional pressure on the EU to speed up its trade agenda.

The BUSINESSEUROPE welcomes the announcement of the conclusion of the Trans-Pacific Partnership Agreement signed on Monday 5th October in Atlanta. The agreement includes 12 Pacific Rim nations from Canada and Chile to Japan and Australia, representing 40 percent of the world’s economy.

„The conclusion of TPP is a significant step towards trade liberalization and should bring a new impetus to the EU trade negotiations with Japan and the USA,“ Markus J. Beyrer, director general of BUSINESSEUROPE, stated.

TPP includes countries with which the EU has recently concluded free trade agreements, like Canada and Vietnam.

„The conclusion of TPP puts additional pressure on the EU to speed up its trade agenda to ensure European companies will be able to také advantage of market opportunities in developed and developing countries in one of the fastest growing regions in the world,“ Beyrer added.

The Confederation of Industry of the Czech Republic, which is a member of the BUSINESSEUROPE since 1993, the Czech Chamber of Commerce and the Confederation of Employers‘ and Entrepreneurs‘ Associations of the Czech Republic have published a joint statement supporting the approval of the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP) treaty on Friday 15th May 2015.
