Bars, pubs must stay closed, no alcohol drinking in public

Restaurants, bars and clubs must stay closed until the end of the state of emergency set for November 3, and the drinking of alcohol at public places will be banned in the Czech Republic from Wednesday as well, Health Minister Roman Prymula (for ANO) said on Twitter.

Prime Minister Andrej Babis (ANO) told at press conference held after a government meeting that ended late tonight that restaurants will be allowed to sell food that people take away. The government recently decided that restaurants must close at 22:00. On Friday, the closing hour was moved to 20:00. Confederation of Industry head Jaroslav Hanak said before that Babis and Prymula assured the Tripartite Council that restaurants would not be closed completely.
