FAC discuses foreign trade in Athens

Implementation of the WTO‘s Bali ministerial conference’s results, Transatlantic Trade nad Investment Partnership (TTIP), EU-Mercosur Association Agreement  and EU-Myanmar Investment Treaty are the main topics of the Foreign Affaires Council (FAC) informal meeting in the Greek capital.

The EU wants to make the most of the 9th WTO conference, held in Bali in December 2013. The Czech Republic took a large interest in the Trade Facilitation Agreement completion and supports the works of the Preparatory Committee. Prague awaits that the developing countries will present an official notification of their commitments well in advance of the agreement approval.

The Czech Republic, in collaboration with the entrepreneurial community, supports the Transatlantic Trade nad Investment Partnership (TTIP) negotiations which should contribute to the elimination of key obstacles to the trade in goods and services.

For the entrepreneurial community, the TTIP is a key agreement that will have large economic benefits for both sides - 10 billion euros for the EU economy and 95 billion euros for the US economy.
