Business mission to the South Korea

To strengthen  the cooperation between the Czech companies and the large family conglomerates (chaebols) like Samsung, Hyundai and Doosam was the main aim of the business mission organized by the Confederation of Industry to the South Korea on May 25-30 2014.

The delegation, including representatives of the companies like UNIS, ZAT, ZVU Potez, Doosan Škoda Power or 2JCP, was led by the Confederation‘s President Jaroslav Hanák.

The key moments of the business mission were the meetings with the Samsung Engineering and Construction and Hyundai Engineering and Construction managements.

Samsung E&C buys products and services for 3,3 billion USD annually, being the second largest contractor of energy services guaranteed in an EPC-contract.

„We have presented to our Korean counterparts products, technologies and know-how of our companies with an accentuation of our good references and experiences in delivering of the equipment complexes,“ Hanák stressed.

Korea is the third most important trading partner of the Czech Republic outside Europe (after China and the USA). The turnover amounted to 3,7 billion USD in 2013. Unfortunately, the Czech trade balance was, significantly negative. For the further development of the economic and trade relations, there were, nevertheless, created good conditions, e.g, visa-free regime and direct flight connection.
