Confederation demands a solution in Russian crisis

President of the Confederation of Industry Jaroslav Hanák demands the creation of a crisis staff in that the Prime Minister of the Czech Republic as well the Czech economic ministers would be included. The crisis staff should try to solve the problem of the impact that the EU sanctions have on Czech companies and industrial branches.

„The situation will probably deteriorate and the impact of sanctions on our industrial enterprises and whole branches could be severe,“ Hanák said. „We demand a creation of a crisis staff with the participation of the Prime Minister, economic ministers, employers, entrepreneurs, exporters and investors.“

The crisis staff should, in the opinion of Hanák, monitor the news from EU and Russia, coordinate the providing and evaluating of information and propositions by the entrepreneurial sphere and propose necessary measures.

The Czech government should start intensive discussions with the Visegrad countries and Germany to coordinate the next steps. Hanák stressed that it is necessary to start political negotiations with the Russian side.

According to the Confederation’s findings, three quarters of the Czech companies doing business on the Russian market refuse the EU sanctions and one third of them fear direct impact on their entrepreneurial activities.

As the Trade Chamber of the Czech Republic stressed, an indirect impact of the sanctions could be perceptible in the case of one third of Czech companies, direct impact could feel one another third of them.
