Prague will take advantage of the European funds again

The European Commission signed with the Czech Republic the Agreement on partnership, developing a strategy for optimal utilization of the European structural and investment funds. It concerns the European fund for regional development, European social fund, Cohesion fund, European agricultural fund for the countryside development and European sea and fishery fund.

By means of these funds, the Czech Republic could contribute to the fulfillment of the strategy Europe 2020. The investment will be primarily directed to the promotion of innovation,  professional build-up and education. All that should help to fight unemployment and social exclusion, promote competitiveness, growth and entrepreneurship and help the economy to exploit effectively the alternative resources of energy.

„The investment should have, in accordance with the new Cohesion policy, a strategical character and shoudl be focused on the real economy, sustainable growth and investment in human resources,“ the EU Commissioner for regional policy Johannes Hahn stressed. „Primary importance should be put on the quality, not on the promptness of implementation.“
