Czech Republic is attracting French investors

French entrepreneurs are extraordinarily interested in investing in the Czech Republic. That is the result of the business forum hold at the Paris headquarters of the French employers‘ association MEDEF on Wednesday 11th September in which more than thirty Confederation of Industry of the Czech Republic business mission participants and eight representatives of important French companies took part.

The forum was part of the Czech President Miloš Zeman official visit in France programme. Zeman was accompanied by Finance Minister Andrej Babiš and Transport Minister Antonín Prachař.

„The representatives of important French companies from industry, banking, food industry and other branches took interest in the possibility to invest in the Czech Republic,“ Hanák said. „Their interest was evident.“

The French businessmen took part in the discussion with the Czech President and both ministers. They have shown interest in some planned projects, inclusive the infrastructural ones like the high speed train connection between Prague and the Ruzyně airport.

„If we want to gain investors we have to change fundamentally the entrepreneurial environment,“ Hanák stressed. „This fact takes shape at such meetings as this one in Paris has been.“

The Confederation’s President met then, together with the Czech President Miloš Zeman, Jean Burell, President of the most important French entrepreneurs‘ association MEDEF. Apart from the situation in Ukraine and the impact of the sanctions against Russia on European business, they disscussed the possibility of the common entry of the French and Czech companies to the African market.
