Czechs signed in Astana contracts worth hundreds of millions USD

Eleven business agreements worth about 450 million US dollars have been signed by the representatives of the Czech companies and their Kazakh counterparts at the business forum in the Kazakh capital Astana on 25th November 2014.

The agreements involve the delivery of technologies and technology units in the field of agriculture, mining equipment, arms and other commodities.

An agreement on cooperation has been signed by the Confederation of Industry‘s president Jaroslav Hanák and his counterpart from the Kazakh Foreign Trade Chamber.

„By this agreement, we are confirming our commitment to intensify the efforts to promote mutual trade relations,“ Hanák stressed. In January next year, a delegation of Kazakh businessmen will come to Prague to meet the representatives of the Confederation of Industry and their member companies.

The 84-member business mission organized by the Confederation of Industry is accompanying Czech president Miloš Zeman on his official visit to Kazakhstan and Tajikistan.

In the business forum in Kazakh capital Astana, the presidents of both countries took part. In his speech, Kazakh president Nursultan Nazarbayev  pointed out that Kazakhstan consider the Czech Republic country of primary and long-term interest. He admitted that the economic exchange between the two countries is not sufficient enough and he has offered to the Czech companies business opportunities in the field of engineering.
