Confederation of Industry supports the TTIP

Most interested in removing the trade barriers between the EU and the United States are companies with a high value added.

As an export-oriented economy, the Czech Republic considers the strengthening of the trade relations between the European Union and the United States extraordinarily important and thus supports the finalization of a complex and well-balanced agreement known as Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP).

After having consulted its member companies and associations from many branches, the Confederation of Industry of the Czech Republic supports the TTIP as a tool to promote the competitiveness of the European economy, especially in the context of the growing potential of the Asian competitors. In the opinion of the Confederation, the TTIP represents a historic opportunity that may not come again in the future.

Most interested in removing the trade barriers between the EU and the United States are companies with a high value added. For these companies, the United States are an interesting market and partner.

From the point of view of the Confederation of Industry, the key topics of the TTIP are:

-          Removal of the administrative and technical barriers

-          Liberalization of the trade in services

-          Undiscriminatory access to contracts

-          Improvement in investment protection

-          Open and undiscriminatory access to the food market

-          Security of energy delivery and access to the raw materials

-          Well-balanced data protection and free flow of information
