Confederation refuses obligatory registration at the Chamber

The Confederation of Industry of the Czech Republic (SP) rejects the Chamber of Commerce’s proposal to let all entrepreneurs be registered at the chamber as an endeavor to address the issue of financing its activities in an unacceptable manner. In the Confederation’s opinion, this step is but a weaker form of obligatory membership and, from the entrepreneurial subjects‘ point of view, there is no justification for it.

The same stance has been expressed by, for example, the Association of Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises and Crafts of the Czech Republic (AMSP ČR) that is a member of the Confederation of Industry.

The Confederation’s position is based on the fact that the companies are obligatory registered at the Commercial Court, Trade Licensing Office and other institutions and there is no reason to generate another database of the entrepreneurial subjects. Moreover, the companies would have to pay for their registration without being interested in it.

The Confederation stands for the voluntariness principle as to the membership in the confederations, associations and chambers. The SP refuses the reasoning that in some European countries, there is a compulsory registration at the Chamber of Commerce.
