Mission to Slovenia’s main topic: Investment

Czech prime minister Sobotka has been accompanied by a delegation of fifteen businessmen.

 

The business mission to Slovenia, organized by the Confederation of Industry of the Czech Republic, has been ended with a visit to Luka Koper, a logistics and distribution center in the northern part of the Adriatic, on Tuesday 14th April.

A fifteen-member delegation, composed of company representatives from the constructions, transport infrastructure, interior equipment‘s delivery and corporate advisory sector, has accompanied the Czech prime minister Bohuslav Sobotka on his two-day official visit to Slovenia. The business mission came after the Confederation’s last-year successful mission to the country organized in the course of the Czech president Miloš Zeman’s visit to Slovenia.

The main topic of the negotiations has been the cooperation in the investment sphere. As to the Luka Koper port‘s further development, it will be necessary to build up and expand the transport infrastructure, particularly this one of the railways. The Czech companies are largely interested in the possibility to develop them. To their Slovenian counterparts, the representatives of the Confederation’s member companies have offered the delivery of railway vehicles components. The mission participants have presented to the Slovenian companies the possibility to cooperate in interiors equipment and food industry deliveries.

„We have accentuated the possibilities of cooperation and we have presented our companies as experienced partners with a lot of experience and know-how,“ the Confederatin of Industry’s president Jaroslav Hanák who headed the business mission pointed out. The top event of the mission has been the Monday‘s Czech-Slovenian business forum for investment promotion where the idea to offer the Slovenian state companies to the Czech investors has been mentioned as one of the possibilities to support the mutual trade whose volume amounted to one billion euros last year.

About one hundred entrepreneurs have taken part in the business forum organized by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Slovenia as well by the Confederation of Industry of the Czech Republic. In the forum, the Czech prime minister Bohuslav Sobotka his Slovenian counterpart Miro Cerar, the president of the Slovenian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Hribar Miliš and the Confederation of Industry‘s president Jaroslav Hanák took part.
