Czech Republic is Visegrad group's presiding country

The main topic of the cooperation is the strengthening of confidence in Central Europe.

On 1st July 2015, the Czech Republic has become the presiding country of the Visegrad Group under the motto „V4 Trust (We for trust). A unique rate of the mutual confidence based on the historically given close relations, open exchange of opinions and productive cooperation in many areas represents the value added of the Visegrad collaboration.

Europe is in an exceptionally complicated geopolitical, security and economic situation and the Visegrad group of four countries has to further stay the basic cooperation scheme in the Central European region and one of the stabilizing factors of the processes going on in Europe.

The main priorities of the Czech presidency of the Visegrad group between July 2015 and June 2016 (CZ V4 PRES) are as follows:

• Internal coherence of the Visegrad group;

• Energy;

• European Neighbourhood Policy (ENP), enlargement policy, promotion of transformation and development assistance;

• Security and defense cooperation;

• Cooperation in the EU with emphasis on the promotion of the solidarity principle within the framework of the European integration;

• Digital agenda and infrastructure development;

• Fighting tax evasion and fraud.
