Iraqi Kurds delegation met Czech businessmen

The Confederation of Industry of the Czech Republic has organized a meeting between the Czech companies and the delegation from Iraqi Kurdistan in its Prague headquarters on Tuesday 27thOctober. Twenty-five representatives of the Czech companies doing business, especially in the transport, construction, IT, electronical and pharmaceutical industry took part in it.

The Iraqi delegation was led by Importers and Exporters Union of Kurdistan’s president Mustafa A.R. Abdulla. He expressed a wish to deepen the cooperation with the Confederation of Industry and invited the Czech businessmen to visit Iraqi Kurdistan.

„The Middle East region is a priority area for the Confederation of Industry and Czech exporters show large interest in this market,“ Confederation’s International relations director Lukáš Martin said. „The Iraqi Kurdistan region is today the most stable area of Iraq and it is important for the Czech companies to maintain close relationship with the Kurdish business partners.“

The Prague Tuesday’s event has built on the Confedereration’s efforts to help the Czech companies in entering the Iraqi market. The Confederation takes regularly part in the energy and construction fair in the Iraqi Kurdistan’s capital Erbil.

„The Iraqi market represents a large potential for the Czech companies,“ Martin stressed. „To make our companies competitive in the international comparison, it will be necessary to have a large institutional and financial support from the Czech state.“
