Industry maintains its growth tempo in the fourth quarter of 2015

The main driving force of the growth was traditionally the automotive industry.

The October’s results of the Czech industrial production have brought positive numbers and the fourth quarter of 2015 builds on the previous achievements. As the Confederation of Industry’s analyst Bohusla Čížek points out in his latest analysis, there is no negative reverse in relation to the initial forecast to be awaited. The industrial production growth will near five percent in total for the whole year 2015. The industry has confirmed its dominant position and has contributed further to the growth in general.

The working day adjusted data of the industrial production showed a rise by 6,4 percent in the year-over-year comparison. The month-over-month seasonally adjusted data resulted in a one-and-half-percent growth.

The main driving forces of the growth were as follows: motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers production (19-percent growth), manufacture of rubber and plastic products (10,7%) and production of electrical devices (7,7%). On the contrary, a decrease has been recorded in electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning production and distribution (-12,6%), chemicals and chemical products manufacturing (-21%) and printing and reproduction of recorded media (-7,4%).

The results are reflected in employment where the average recorded numbers of employees in the companies with 50 and more employees raised 3,6 percent in October in a year-over-year comparison.

More positively evaluated, in comparison to the previous month, are the new contracts values which raised 6,5 percent yearly in total. The new foreign contracts raised 9,6 percent, the new domestic ones only 1,0 percent.
