Business is worried about Base Erosion and Profit Shifting

The OECD recommendations have to support economic activity promoting growth and jobs, BIAC said.

The Business and Industry Advisory Committee to the OECD (BIAC) as a business voice at the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development is involved in the G20 Base Erosion and Profit Shifting (BEPS) project.

The project is now entering its final phase. In this context, the BIAC has released a Position Paper to the BEPS in which it describes in detail the entrepreneurial community‘s fears relating to the whole series of activities proposed within the BEPS project.

The aim of the recommendations is to achieve a pragmatic, flexible and gradual approach to the taxation politics‘ development to help with the solution of important questions in the Base Erosion and Profit Shifting field that are worrying governments and their voters and, simultaneously, to protect the cross-border trade and investment which are so important for the growth and jobs.

The Position Paper is based on the BIAC members‘ comments on the BEPS as well as on the individual activities within the project and it will be updated accordingly to the latest development in the following months.
