During its Presidency of the EU Council, the Czech Republic is expected to strive to improve the competitiveness of European industry and economy

This year, the European Union and European politics will be in the spotlight not only of the government but also of the general public. In the second half of the year, the Czech Republic will take over the six-month Presidency of the Council of the EU. The European Union and its future direction are crucial for the current and future success of Czech industry and economy.

The Confederation of Industry of the Czech Republic (SP CR) will use this exceptional opportunity to emphasise that the European Union must remain business friendly and create a level playing field as well as fair conditions for entrepreneurs from all member countries.

Priorities of the SP CR for the Czech Presidency of the Council of the EU

The Confederation of Industry of the Czech Republic has therefore defined the priorities of business for the Czech Presidency of the Council of the EU. Representatives of Czech business and of the largest employers' organisation have divided their priorities important for the direction of the European Union and the Czech Republic into three pillars:

  • A resilient and open Europe,
  • A competitive and sustainable Europe,
  • Europe with a dynamic labour market.

The SP CR sees these three pillars as prerequisites for ensuring a favourable and predictable business environment and a higher level of long-term competitiveness and sustainable economic growth.
